Horse Wisdom - Connection

So many special moments in the last few weeks with the herd. As I was scrolling through the photos in my phone the photos above stood out. There were a few others too but it would take too long to get permissions. Anyway ... as I scrolled, I had this deep sense of connection as I looked at photo after photo of horses and people supporting and connecting with one another.
It feels especially important right now to reflect about this connection because what the loudest voices want us to believe is that we are dis-connected. That some are more worthy or better than others. That some belong and others don't.
But the horses remind us that we need each other. That the whole herd is what is important and to preserve and nurture it. That we each have a role and gift to offer. Sometimes we give, sometimes we receive.
We can literally hold up each other as Sweetie is holding me as I laid on her back. (Such a gift!) Or we hold space like Anu held space and offered his heart as he stood over me. Or we sit with each other in times of need as I did with Clyde as he laid on the ground taking a rest. Or we physically assist each other when we need a hug or a scratch on the back as Bonnie & Clyde did for each other. Or sometimes we are with each other face to face in the good or the hard as Sweetie & Bonnie are doing for one another.
And it is all about connection. Connecting to each one's being-ness, showing up in our fullness or in our need knowing that we need connection to thrive, heal, or grow. Being present and connecting with our hearts whether or not there are words. We are not meant to be alone and we are in this thing called life together.
In these days, remember to find connection with other humans, with animals and with nature. We are inter-connected and we are better together.
